Christmas activities

We got our cute cards ready to mail out. I love how they turned out.

They received these awesome glasses in the "Christmas Mailbox" It's like an advent calendar that we do. You can leave things for other people in there and Olive has been so sweet and left all of us notes in there. She is at the age that she loves making cards and pictures for her teachers and friends. She takes one to dance class almost every week. It's really so sweet to get a note from her and the whole reason I started this mailbox things. They also get some treats and other funny things in it. It's a pretty fun tradition. 

For the first year ever we went to the Festival of Trees. We went because Tanya was performing and we were so excited to see her! Then we stayed for all the fun. It was so cool to see all the trees and Olive was very very impressed.

I don't know what she is doing here but she did love walking around and seeing all the trees. 

The gingerbread houses were really impressive and Olive wanted a picture with the Despicable Me house. See it? It was way cool! In another life I am going to be a gingerbread house master and decorate the most beautiful Christmas trees!

Olive loved this Frozen themed tree. It had a cute Olaf and came with Frozen dolls. 

Milo liked this Curious George one. It was pretty cool, but not as cool as the Ninja Turtles one though.

We did Zoo Lights with our friends. It was the first time we had ever done this and it was extra cool because it was free with our pass. The only problem was, the night we scheduled to do it was a bitter cold night. It was so frigid. Like 0 degress. We had majorly bundled up and wore all our snow gear in an effort to survive it. 

Milo was crammed into his stroller with all his snow gear on. I think this is so funny.

We let Milo get out at this part because he wanted to walk through the lights. This was the beginning of the end for us at the Zoo Lights. Milo refused to wear his snow boots so I wanted to wrap him up in a blanket in the stroller and he wouldn't let me do that once we were there. Since he got out, his poor feet got super cold and about 10 minutes after this he was crying uncontrollably. Even when we got him home and I was putting his jammies on, his feet were still icicles. Poor boy! Next year we will for sure go again because they do a super good job with the lights but Milo will be older so hopefully he will be more willing to bundle up and we will for sure go on not sure a freezing night!

Just a few nights ago we made it downtown to see the lights at Temple Square. Olive loved it and loved looking at the nativities from around the world. It was a perfect night and not even too crowded!

The floating lights are always a favorite. Olive loved that it was like Tangled. They were around the nativity so it was even better!

All the lights are always so impressive. Milo kept saying "ooooh, awww, oooooh" and he would yell Merry Christmas when he saw more lights. Even on the drive up he kept yelling every time he saw a tree with lights on it.

It was definitely a fun night. But both kids were tired and worn out by the time we were done. We couldn't even get Olive to smile. Fortunately we timed it just right and didn't have any major meltdowns.
