3 Years Of Milo

After looking through the years of Olive it got me curious about Mr Milo so I decided to do the same thing for him.  I struck by the same things with Milo as I was with Olive.  I am shocked at how much he still looks the same and has the same interests that he had as a curious toddler but how much his personality and silly sense of humor has come out. He is more reserved and shy than his sister, just like he was as a baby. He is growing so fast. I miss his amazing chubby thighs and a tongue that always stuck out. I never thought I would say this but I do miss the predicaments that he would get himself in to by climbing on everything. It's so strange to watch your kids grow up.

Six Years Of Olive

As I was writing about Olive turning 6 I wanted to take a quick look back over her six years. It was so fun cruising through memory lane and extremely difficult to pick one picture for each year. I find it rather shocking how much she looks the same and for sure stayed the same personality and yet grown and changed so much. She definitely looks and acts like the first grader she is, and as joyful as my heart is about that it mourns her baby cheeks little squishy, chubby toddler body.

Olive Turns 6

Olive's birthday was on a Sunday this year and we had just moved into Becca's basement so things were a little hectic but we were determined to make her day very special. We got it all set up for her to be surprised in the morning just like usual.

She had lost her first tooth the day before. So the Tooth fairy left her a little extra money since it was her birthday and she was ecstatic about it.
Now that is a face of the sweetest, most loveable 6 year old around! Love that girl to death.

She requested Birthday pancakes with strawberries and peaches for breakfast.

She got some new furniture for her barbie house.

She also got a really cool playmobile set with fairies and unicorns and spent a lot of her day playing with her awesome new toys.

She got her long anticipated Elsa dress.  Man that thing was hard to get my hands on.

I also got us matching birthday necklaces.

Then it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa's for Sunday dinner and open more presents.

She got this awesome set of barbies with their princes and was so excited.

Grandma made her birthday pastry cake. Happy birthday Olive!

The next day Olive's cousins threw her an impromptu birthday tea party with some of the kids from the new neighborhood. It was really sweet and made Olive feel super special. And she got to meet some new friends.

We always got out on a girls birthday date on the day in between our birthdays and Olive has always picked Zupas.

She brought her newest addition to her doll collection from her aunt Becca's doll collection. It is certainly a treasured gift!

Birthday cheesecake!

Olive took this picture of me on our birthday date. Yeah! Happy Birthday our sweet girl!

Olive's Birthday Date

It was Olive's turn for a birthday date this year and after coming up lots of ideas all summer she finally decided on Boondocks, which was a perfect choice for a 6 year old.

First we had a surprisingly yummy dinner at the cafe. Olive got a free Birthday Root beer Float.....

along with a crown and balloon.
Then we scarfed down the brownie sundae birthday dessert.

She got to pick three activities at Boondocks. She picked mini golf, bumper boats, and the monkey jungle climbing thing.

Mini golf was fun but not really Olive's speed. There was a lot of waiting for others to finish and Olive didn't have the patience to get the ball in the hole after one try. But I think she still had fun.
She was excited that she got the ball in the hole on the last hole (with some help) because she made the dragon breathe fire.

Then it was bumper boats. We were all excited about this one.

Our Little Birthday Girl

It was lots of fun, but I may have ended up really soaked thanks to some random 10 year old boy that kept shooting water at me (and I also may have called him a punk) but Olive had a blast.

After the boats she went to play in the jungle climber and I didn't get any pictures of that, or of her and Scott playing lots of arcade games because I had to go pick up Milo. But it was a great time and Olive felt extra special about turning 6 and going on a date with mom and dad. And she was ready for her real birthday to come.
