The Barbie Party

 The Barbie Party is the highlight of Olive's year. This year was no exception. She was waiting anxiously all week until it was finally Saturday to go to the party. It was on the same weekend as Conference. Here the kids are playing conference bingo for the first time.

At the party Olive got her nails painted first. 

Then her face painted. She wanted to be a kitty cat. Cutest kitty ever!

We admired all the Barbies in this amazing collection. Olive loved finding all the different kinds of barbies. 

Then is was time to get her hair done. She chose to have it sprayed pink with sparkles, no big surprise. 

After that she got to pick out as many hair accessories as she wanted.

Olive was getting a little nervous as her name was called near the end. But she as thrilled when she got this hair and nail kit.

And this is the whole big gang. As always they left more prizes and present than the kids could even carry. 

These cute girls are seriously the best. So glad we have such good friends. 

Black Island Farms

This past Saturday was one of our funnest ever. We got invited to go to this awesome farm called Black Island Farms. We literally stayed there all day and played on everything we could. It was pretty great because everything was included in the price of the ticket so you didn't have to pay extra for the fun stuff they offered, so that meant we could play to our hearts content. 

 

Of course we made them stop and stand in front of a sign before we went in because that's just what we do.

Milo was giving us some good smiles which usually doesn't happen.

These two cuties. They make me so happy.

We saw some animals. These were the calfs.

They had lots of piles of hay all over the place with different purposes. This was a hay tunnel. 

We watched some pigs race. 

They also made these awesome hay slides. The kids loved these. 

Here is Scott being a kid at heart and going down the slide face first chasing after Milo. As you can guess Milo loved it. 

This slide was actually pretty big. Here they all went down together. The kids played on these slides for quite a long time. 

Olive took some time to ride on this shark swing,

and lasso a cow,

and then ride a the cow.

Meanwhile Milo was admiring this monster truck. 

Then they started a band together. Actually, Milo banged like crazy while Olive patiently waited. I was so worried he was going to accidentally hit her. 

Then it was off for a ride on this tractor train. The kids were so excited. 

Milo was really mad that I made he ride with me. He wanted to go by himself. But once it started he was ok. 

We tried to make Milo smile for a picture and he refused. This makes me laugh so hard. 

Instead of a sand box they had a corn box and the kids really loved playing in it, as you can tell, since it's jam packed with kids. 

Olive and Lyla took some more train rides. 

And were adorable.

They had some piles of hay to climb on and you know the kids were all over that. 

Plus a cow bounce house. I think they did it like 3 times in a row. 

After that we went over to look at the giant hot air balloon they blew up. It was actually really interesting. We just sat for a bit and ate snacks and watched it. 

Olive found this pig nose and was very excited. 

They let us get in the basket of the balloon. 

Milo really liked when the flame would go off and he would yell FIRE!

We remembered to get a group shot of the whole family. 

Then we went into the corn maze. As you can tell it was a beautiful day and perfect weather. 

Milo wanted a stalk of corn and was mad that I snapped a picture instead of get it for him.  

Here he is much happier since we gave him his corn stalk.

Then is was off to the tractor ride. We decided to not bring our stroller and surprisingly the kids did ok. Olive was getting tired toward the end and at one point we strapped Milo into a friends stroller while we waited in line. How can our kids be big enough to go all day with a stroller? It's surreal.

The tractor took you out into a huge pumpkin patch and you got to explore and pick your own pumpkin from the vine. It was really cool. 

Olive found hers. She tried to pick out the biggest one she could find. 

Milo used his for a seat. 

As you can see it was getting dusk by the time we finished up. We spent hours at this one farm and the kids had an absolute ball. It was really fun. Afterwards we went back to a house and ate soup and let the kids stay up and watch movies. It was definitely a really great Saturday.
