Fourth Of July 2014

Our 4th is always a crazy busy day, jam packed with lots of fun things. We try to cram in as much as possible and this year we added some more fun things.
We decide that our kids are big enough that we can finally run the 5k again. Our kids sat with Becca and Bruce and cheered for us while we ran together. We ran with our friends and it was a super fun way to start our holiday.

These ladies are seriously some of the best friends I have ever had! I am so lucky to have all of them in my life. We don't take pictures together enough, usually we are just taking pics of our kids.

The family that runs together stays together!!

Olive ran in the kids race with her friends and she LOVED it. This is for sure a new tradition!

Our little champion racers. Milo wasn't old enough this year but next year he is all over this!

Ready to Race!

The dads went the extra mile (ha!) and ran with the kids. Olive and Brighton held hands the entire time. It was adorable. And look at Olive's determination. I love how seriously she took her race. She was so in to it.

Post race smiles.

I was seriously so proud of all these kids! They were so proud to get their medals.

Then it was off to watch the parade.

As usual we had a little pot luck breakfast while we watched the parade. Donuts, yum!
And as usual I made our 4th of July sticks. Those are always a huge it with the kids.

Watching the parade. Olive brought her easter basket to collect candy in.

Milo was super in to the trucks and fire engines.

I was very surprised that he was willing to give this creepy guy bones. Way to be brave Milo!

Most of the crew watching the action

Then we went back to the house to get changed and headed over to the park for all the Fun Days activities.

I love this picture of Milo when he got the bean bag in the hole.

Both kids took turns shooting the fire hose.

Inflatable slides!

Olive found Annica when she was riding the swings.

Dancing to the band. We found one of  her friends from T-ball and he told us his dad was the one singing in the band!

We played carnival games.

The kids were so excited to get their faces painted, although  Milo looks pretty nervous here.

Olive got some really cool fireworks and Milo got a Captain America shield.

Matching face paint with McCoy and Lyla.

After we went to a BBQ in Provo we came to home to Murray Park to watch the awesome fireworks with my family. We brought glow sticks to entertain the kids and I think they almost wanted to do that more than watch the fireworks.

Even though it's a busy and crazy day, the 4th of July is definitely one of my favorite holidays!
