More Cousins

Milo is pretty lucky because he has an adorable cousin who is only one month older than him. It was so fun to see what things are alike about them and just how many things are different. It also boggles my mind how much one month older can seem so obvious at this stage. Here are our two cuties in a mini photo shoot we did while on vacation together.
I think they definitely look like cousins, but have their own looks. They will most likely have matching chubby cheeks though!

Milo kept falling over onto Gavin. I think it must be because Milo really likes him, and probably not because he is a very wobbly new baby. Thankfully Gavin was pretty patient about it.

I just love this picture! What cuties. Don't mind my hand holding Milo up. He kept rolling right off the pillow.
Here is Milo doing his classic "old man" look.
They sure are so cute and I'm excited for them to get to grow up and play together.

Olive Loves her Cousins

We just got  back from a great family vacation with the Pattersons. We all had a great time but I think Olive was in heaven. Having cousins around makes just about everything better. Since she got to hang out with these girls that she so admires, 24/7 for an entire week Olive's life was perfect. They adore her too. It is so fun to watch them dote on her. Here are some highlights of the cousin fun.
Swimming
Almost more than actual swimming Olive liked drying off and laying out just like her big cousins. They would talk and chat. She seriously seemed to be 2 going on 12.

Playing sports and in the sand was a daily ritual for Olive. The girls are pretty excited to see her too.

Riding "Easy Wiggle" bikes and having races.
(Olive usually gave up but still liked being around the action)

Sharing Russian donuts. Yum!
Discovering cool pool toys.

Interesting side note, that is Olive's hand-me-down suit. The surprising/sad thing is that Olive wore it when she was 11 months old. Her cousin is 18 months old. Want proof? Check here.
Dancing and copying cool dance moves from the cousins.

Getting her finger and toe nails painted.  Notice how the girls outfits match. Olive loved that.

Snacking.
(We all did a lot of this one)

Cousin Movie Night. What could be better than real homemade popcorn, staying up late, and watching a big kid movie? Nothing.

Here is a preview of the next post where Milo gets to enjoy his cousins too.

4 Weeks Old Already?

Here is our little guy. I can't believe it has almost been a month with Milo! He is very sweet and peaceful most of the time. You just have to keep him well fed. He doesn't like to feel hungry and he will let you know it.
Milo is definitely getting bigger. He is still a floppy newborn, which makes me happy, but he is getting some meat on him.  His chubbers are coming in nicely.

I love newborn chicken legs, but I also like rolly polly thighs and squishy cheeks, both of which are growing on our cute boy.

This is a typical Milo face. Like his sister he is quite pensive and serious most of the time.  Milo really likes his binkie which is so different from Olive. I kind of hate binkies because they just fall out, but he is getting better at keeping it in. He often keeps his hands close to his chest, I think it is for easy access if he wants to suck on them.
I find this picture so funny because I feel like Milo kinda looks like an old man. He is getting stronger as he gets bigger. He loves to hold his head up and see what is going on.  Olive was the same way always wanting to see what is happening. Milo is pretty cuddly and prefers to fall asleep in your arms. He is usually easy to sooth if you rock him.
These two are really becoming buds. Olive likes to know where Milo is and what he is doing. She gets very concerned and talks to the monitor saying "It's ok Milo! Don't cry!" when he is crying. It is so cute and I don't have the heart to tell her that Milo can't hear her.

Milo likes to look at Olive and watch what she is doing. I've even caught them holding hands while in their car seats.  Life is feeling like it is back to normal and it feels strange to think that only 4 weeks ago he wasn't even here yet. We  are so in love with our little guy and so happy we have him.

Bloopers

Scott always teases me that I really like to watch the bloopers reel on dvds. Well,  you might be sick of these photos but I just had to post these outtake ones because I find them hilarious.

Yes, this picture is in response to a stinky diaper joke. Olive loves potty humor.

This is my favorite.

Classic Olive

I absolutely love this picture!
It absolutely captures who Olive is these days.
It's the perfect expression of excitement and sass.
I love how she is resting on her hand.
She looks so grown up nest to Milo
She is showing you the most important thing in the picture, in her eyes, which is Belle. She loves her princesses more than ever.  She wanted Belle in every picture.
This is definitely what I will remember of her at this age.
Here is what happened when we tried take Belle away for the photo.
If you have been around Olive in the last few months you have seen this moment many times. She is so dramatic! Olive does not like to be scolded or in trouble. She often covers her face when upset, and lots of things make her upset.  She will also run to her room and throw herself on her bed to pout or cry. It is like out of a movie or something.  It is so over the top I have a hard time not laughing at her most of the time.  Thankfully she is quick to apologize, especially to mommy and daddy, and can usually pull herself together pretty fast. She is easy to reason with and is also getting better at understanding that happy kids get privileges and tantrums lose privileges.

Oh how I love her so much!
