St George Trip

On our way to our annual Sanders Family vacation to California we stopped in St George for a day. Although we were only there for a short time we packed a lot of fun in.

We started off with a dip in the pool. Milo is sad in this picture because of his life jacket. It came off after this.

After we got our fill of swimming we went to play with the toys in the garage. Milo wanted to keep this remote control car forever.

Mr Shoeless Milo walked out on the hot cement and burned his feet so he sat on my lap while resting his feet on an ice pack. Poor boy. Why won't he ever wear shoes? 

So there are a lot of pictures coming up. We got a new camera to take on this trip so we were testing it out.

After the carousel we played in the water. 

These two were pretending to be fish or something. All I know is they are so cute!

I loved this picture of Liz. 

Just as we were finishing up in the water a summer storm rolled in so we ran over to get some ice cream and wait out the rain.

Mmmm, superman flavor is kid heaven. 

Scott tried one of the specialty sodas on a dare from his brother. He looks real excited about Bacon Maple Chocolate soda doesn't he?

After that we had an amazing dinner and did some more swimming until we had to load up and drive to Cali in the morning.  

Fourth Of July 2013

 We had an absolutely fabulous 4th of July. One of my most favorite things about where we live is the 4th of July. We can do all of these super fun activities with in walking distance of our house and we get do it with all of our friends and neighbors. It's truly a magical day.

We started off the day with a potluck breakfast at the parade with some friends. 

I made these themed treats that turned out to be a big hit and they were pretty tasty.

Milo was rather weary of many of the louder parts of the parade but he liked being up close and personal with this marching band.

After the parade we headed over to the park for the Fun Days activities. It was blasted hot but we still had fun. The kids loved the bounce toys and obstacle course but nothing beats a carnival game.

So we got some yummy lunch and ate in the park. 

Olive tried the lime from my limeade. Hehe. 

Then it was off to Provo for more fun and food. Here are Olive and Lizzie looking adorable. These two are such cute friends.

We got out the water toys and slip n' slide which made for quite the fun afternoon. 

It was Olive's first time on a slip n' slide and she loved it. 

After all the fun we headed back to Murray to get a spot at the park to watch the fireworks. We had quite the crew since my parents, brothers, their friends, Scott's sister and family, and lots of neighbors all joined us. I couldn't help but sit there surrounded by so much love and great people and think of how blessed I am.

It was great show as always! Milo didn't really last and after a long and busy day he had a major tantrum as we were trying to go home. It was a bit stressful but it wouldn't be an outing with Milo without a tantrum. 

The next night some friends invited us over to watch more fireworks. 

Milo didn't like the screaming ones, nobody does really. 

Olive was so pleased because she got to do her first sparkler. It was such a great holiday!

Hike on Little Cottonwood Trail

 One beautiful evening we decided to go take an easy hike in the mountains on Little Cottonwood Trail. It was  gorgeous up there and we had a lot of fun.

Milo didn't like sitting on this rock for a picture but I included it anyway. 

Remember her parasol from the princess festival? Yes, is came hiking with us. 

Milo didn't like climbing the rock but Olive sure did (with a hand)

The reason Milo didn't want to climb on the rocks was because he wanted to walk and explore and carry all the rocks he found. 

We found this lovely log and decided it was a great place to eat dinner. 

After awhile we came to the river. The kids LOVED throwing rocks and sticks into the water. We stayed here and threw stuff in until almost dusk.

It was a fun night and we have been itching to get back up there for another perfect evening.
