A few weeks ago we went up the canyon with some friends to make some tin foil dinners. It was such a fun night. Nothing like a fire, mountains and good company to make for a great evening!

We had a crazy, rushed day so we were kinda lazy and just did hot dogs over the fire. Everyone else had gourmet dinners and we were a little white trash but it was SO easy.
Milo really, really liked the fire. He was determined to roast the hot dogs. We eventually gave him his own stick and he charred those dogs to a crisp but was happy as a clam about it. Scott and I, on the other hand, were stress cases making sure he didn't do himself or some else harm with his fire stick.
Look at that happy boy!
And they certainly enjoyed their white trash dinners!
After we ate it was time for some exploring.
It was kinda steep so I was pretty impressed with their solution to get down. They were filthy dirty by the end of the night but that is kinda the point isn't it?
I told you, he was obsessed.
Then we took a flash light hike and explored a little bit in the dark. That was Olive's favorite and least favorite part. She loved walking with the flashlights and exploring but was kinda freaking out that hers wasn't bright enough. Really Olive? Oh the drama.
We found a little waterfall while exploring.
And we crossed a little bridge.
You know Milo was in love with having a flash light. That boy is crazy about turning things on and off.
The whole gang getting ready to make s'mores.
Milo was too focused on eating his s'more to smile for the picture. Good thing Olive looks so cute.
After that it was time for stories by the camp fire. A few of the dads told their best bed time stories. There were no ghosts involved but some pirates and minions made the cut. As you can tell the kids were actually pretty enthralled with the stories. But by then it was getting late. You know you've had a good time when both of your kids are completely melting down. It a sure sign that they've played hard, but also that it's time to go. We had such a blast. I love that we have awesome friends that want to have adventures with us!
