San Diego Trip 2013

  We were so lucky to be able to go on an amazing trip with all of Scott's family to San Diego for Spring Break. For the first time ever, all 4 school districts in the family had spring break at the same time. That was momentous. We have gone to San Diego as a family before and it was such a great trip that we wanted to do it again. In lots of ways, for a family of our size (25 people all traveling and staying together), it is very accommodating for all of us and this trip that was certainly the case. We all drove and thus is made getting around while there very easy. Because our cars are getting kinda old we were worried that neither of them would make the trip that well. So we borrowed Scott't dad's car for the trip and everything worked out perfectly. Our kids did this drive last summer and were great. But now that Milo was a little bit older, we thought he might fight it more. We split the trip up and stayed half way the first night. The kids were really champs and did amazingly well on the trip. We were so proud of them.

Thanks to pinterest for this great idea to us a cookie sheet as a lap board. We actually used this a ton and it was super helpful.

I had gotten some little things to open as presents every so often. Milo was enjoying his new books quite a bit. 

And of course, we were so glad that we had some tablets so the kids could play games and watch some shows when we got really desperate. 

Finally we arrived at our bungalow at Paradise Point. It was the most perfectly brilliant bungalow, mostly because it walked right out onto this beautiful ocean cove. It was divine. And, we all had bungalows right in a row so that was pretty magical too. The kids would just walk outside and start playing together. 

After everyone arrived we had some quick dinner and decided to celebrate our first night with a beach side fire. It was the perfect way to start our trip. The kids were pretty beat after our day of traveling and Milo actually asked (multiple times on this trip) to go to bed. He walked right up to me and started singing his night night song. Poor tired boy. 

The next morning we woke up and went straight out to the beach to play in the sand and water. 

Scott and I just sat back and relaxed soaking up the nice weather as our kids played happily with their cousins. What more could we ask for? I mean, I actually read a book on this trip! A book!
