Christmas Eve 2012

We had had such a fun and busy holiday season. In a way I am sad to sit down and blog about it because that really means it is all over. Even after Scott went back to work we just had lazy days because we had no school or obligations. I often have a hard time with the first weeks of January because so much excitement and anticipation is now all over. But, I guess I will get to relive it a bit by going through these next few blog posts. First is Christmas Eve.

Like last year the Sanders side of our family had relatives in town for the holidays. That is kinda a big deal because it happens so seldom. We decided to all get together of Christmas eve to have lunch and play games. Olive was in heaven because Caleb and Brooklyn were there to play with her. These three played so well together and had a wonderful time. It is kinda sad because now when we go over to grandma's house, Olive asks if the kids are going to be there. It's kinda heart breaking every time we have to tell her no. We miss these kids already!

Milo was being so cute and fun that day. Look at how adorable he is!
After we stuffed ourselves silly we played some games. We could actually play the games too since our kids were busy playing! We played a couple rounds of Bang! which is always a good time.

But then they broke out the video games and it was hard to pull them away from that.

After we headed straight down to Provo to meet everyone for dinner. It had snowed for the two days previous and so it was still very questionable if the roads were going to be safe to drive on. We just took it slow, and thankfully it had stopped snowing by the time we were ready to drive. But coming home on the icy roads was super stressful. Anyway, we made it safe and sound to dinner, even if we were quite late!
It's always nativity time after dinner. Olive was really excited to be in the nativity play.

The big girls totally took over and orchestrated the whole nativity. I can't believe how grown up they are getting. They did a great job putting it all together for us. And we just got to sit back and enjoy.

Olive got to be Mary this year. A role she took very seriously.

All the grandkids on Christmas Eve. What a cute bunch!

Then it was time to open their Christmas pjs! Oh the excitement!

I love these two cuties in their matching jammies. They are going to be such good buddies.

Daddy always puts on his new jammies too. I guess he's a kid at heart. The kids always do a pj parade to show off their new pjs but all those pictures turned out so blurry since it kinda became a dancing parade.

We braved the roads once again to get home. Olive was very excited for the next morning. It really is so magical to watch their anticipation! She actually went straight to bed and didn't get out once because she was so excited to sleep so she could wake up in the morning. Trust me, that never happens! As we sat there by the lit tree with our gifts all around us and the excitement we knew was coming in just a few hours, we felt truly and immensely blessed. What a magical life we live.
