Our Day at the Aviary

We recently got free passes to our local Aviary and apparently so did veryone else. It was a very crowded day there but since we hadn't been in a couple of years it was really fun to see all the cool birds and things they had to play with.

They had a whole wall of  birds that were to scale that you could compare yourself with. It was actually really surprising to see how big some of these birds were. Olive liked that she was the same size as a penguin (although that isn't what she's pictured with)

Here is Olive jumping right in with all the big kids (that we don't know) and hoping along the pathway. She isn't intimidated by much.

My kids love digging in the sand and the aviary had this cool feature where you could try to use different tools that were like different birds beaks to pick up things from the sand.

Then a huge peacock walked right past where Milo was playing. Milo wasn't too concerned until it started squawking. Peacocks make a horrible sound. Do you see little Milo in the corner?

For some reason Olive loves flamingos. It might be because they are pink. Well, she was overjoyed when we found the flamingos at the aviary.

Being a parrot.

Olive liked the owl forrest part because they had all these tree house type structures that you could climb up in.

Then after lunch we went to watch the bird show. It was about how strong eggs were. It was really interesting and Olive was loving it until she didn't get picked as a volunteer and so we had to leave because she couldn't stop crying. Sometimes she is just too enthusiastic and excited about things.

That was our fun day at the Aviary. We will definitely be going back soon!
