Because of the cool temps, I hardly went in the water but I did get a lot of reading done! Olive could actually play at the beach this year which made it even more charming than her first time. It was less stressful because she wasn't trying to eat handfuls of sand every second and was pretty cautious about the waves. We just took turns playing with her and since there were tons of other adults around we got a few breaks too!

I tried to get a picture of all of our foot prints together which proved much more difficult that I thought. We would run around after Olive and stamp our feet next to a print she left. It was pretty funny. It only kinda worked.

It was quite chilly most of our time at the beach but on the few days when the sun was able to finally peak through it was so perfect.
Olive really loved the beach this year. Her favorite thing was to run to get the waves and then run away as they rolled in to shore. She literally did this back and forth running for hours. When someone got tired of running with her she would go grab the next adults hand and force/ pull them down to the shore with her.

As you can see she was happy as can be about it.

When she wasn't by the water or playing in the giant hole her daddy dug her, Olive chilled with her toys digging in the sand. She was shown how to destroy sand castles very early in the trip and no one could make one that lasted more than 5 minutes after that.
Our tent came in quite handy on those chilly beach days. Olive would sit in there and insist that daddy sit with her. It was pretty hilarious seeing his legs stick out of a tiny pink tent.

Since the waves were a little too rough for her to really play in we hiked over to a cove so she could get some time in the water too. It was too cold though and she just wanted to get back to the waves.

Besides chasing waves, Olive became obsessed with digging for sand crabs.

She would pick up hand fulls of sand, hoping she got a crab...

and give them to anyone willing to take it.

She was fascinated by the crabs and would let me put them on her hands. This one was really huge, although it doesn't look like it in the picture.

Besides fun beach time we also picked oranges off of grandma's tree (Olive ate one almost every day)
Had our favorite shakes at Ruby's as well as loads of other good food,
saw a movie, and ate yummy frozen yogurt after a very productive shopping trip.
It was a blast and we love this fun family tradition. Thanks Sanders for the great time!
