A wonderful lady in our neighborhood does a Barbie Party every year and last weekend was the party. Olive had been looking forward to it for weeks, ever since she got the invitation. Last year, I think some girls went as princesses, so Olive had it in her head that she needed to dress up like a princess. We were just going to have her wear one of her thousands of dress up dresses. But on the morning she had it in her head that she got to wear her new Snow White costume. After lots of tears in this misunderstanding, we were softies and caved because she was so sweet. She was the only one dressed as a princess but that didn't phase her one bit.
Here she is arriving at the party!
This house is full of barbies. There are literally rooms full of barbies. Olive was ecstatic when she found a Snow White barbie that matched her. She was very excited but also really liked looking at all the other barbies that she had a hard time looking at me for a picture!
This party had everything a girl could want. Sparkles, glitter, crowns, everything. She got to pick what color she wanted her hair and of course she chose pink. Then some girls styled her hair for her. She was in heaven.
Then she got her face painted.
Cute rainbow:)
Olive really liked walking around admiring all of the barbies and their costumes. She kept saying "Look mom, she's beautiful!" It was so cute. She really, really liked these barbies of Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Dolittle from My Fair Lady. She went back like 3 times to look at them.
And what is a barbie party without pink cupcakes.
It was a bright and sunny day, so this princess needed my sun glasses so she could see. Sometimes she is such a diva!
Then she got to sit with all her friends. There was a contest to guess how many marbles were in a jar. Olive guessed close (with a little help) and so she won a Rapunzel barbie. She was overjoyed. You should have seen her face! It was awesome.
The best thing about the barbie party is that you leave with so many party favors you would think it was your birthday! Olive spent an hour at home admiring and examining all the great things she got at the party. It was such a fun day!
I included this picture because I think it is so funny. Olive did amazing in swim lessons this summer and we wanted her to continue with her progress so we signed her up for some Saturday classes. But there are only a few kids and only two classes. For some reason she got put into this class with all older boys. I think one of them is 10 and the other two are 7. It is so funny to me to watch her just bob around and be with these older kids. She keeps up with them ok!
